Creamy Sriracha Lime Sauce

This creamy sriracha lime sauce comes together in minutes and adds so much flavor to salmon bowls chicken veggies and grain bowls. Lightened up with Greek yogurt and easy to adjust to taste.

This is one of those sauces I end up making almost without thinking because it works with so many meals. It is creamy, tangy, lightly spicy, and somehow manages to feel both indulgent and fresh at the same time. I originally made it for salmon rice bowls, but it quickly turned into a sauce I reached for all week long.

I like using a mix of mayo and Greek yogurt instead of going all in on mayo. It keeps the sauce lighter and adds a little extra protein, without sacrificing creaminess. The sriracha brings flavor more than heat, and the lime juice brightens everything up so it never feels heavy. This is very much a taste as you go kind of sauce. I often tweak it slightly depending on the yogurt I have on hand or how tangy I want it that day.

If you use non fat Greek yogurt, you may want to add a little extra mayo at the end to boost the richness. I did that the first time I made it and it made all the difference.

Main Ingredients & Swaps

  • Mayo – This is the creamy base of the sauce. I usually use my homemade mayo, but avocado oil or regular mayo is a great store bought option.
  • Greek yogurt – This lightens the sauce and adds protein. Full fat or non fat both work. If using non fat, consider adding an extra tablespoon of mayo for better flavor.
  • Sriracha – Adds heat and depth without overpowering the sauce. You can reduce it for a milder sauce or increase it if you like more spice.
  • Fresh lime juice – This is what keeps the sauce bright and balanced. Lemon juice can work in a pinch, but lime really shines here.
  • Honey – Just a touch to balance the heat and acidity.
  • Olive oil – Adds a little richness and rounds out the flavor. This is optional but recommended.
