The Best Chewy Homemade Granola Bars for Kids
These chewy homemade no bake granola bars combine oats seeds and honey into a satisfying snack you can make anytime. They come together quickly with simple ingredients and give you a homemade option that works for lunchboxes snacks or busy days.

This recipe proves there is a better way than the snack aisle. For parents juggling hectic mornings, these homemade granola bars offer a simple solution for filling lunches. The recipe focuses on real ingredients that provide lasting energy without the waste and questionable fillers of pre-packaged options. You truly cannot go wrong with this seedy, chewy, no bake granola bar recipe! It’s hard to eat just one!
How I Make It
First, melt together butter, honey, and brown sugar to create a syrup. Turn off the heat and then mix in the cinnamon, vanilla, almond butter, and salt.

Next, add in the oats, rice cereal, seeds of choice into the syrup and stir until everything is incorporated.

Transfer to a parchment lined large pullman loaf pan and top with chocolate chips. Then using the parchment paper, press down firmly into the pain. Transfer to the fridge to cool.

After it hardens up, about 1-2 hours, you can cut them into slices. I like to store them in the fridge to keep them fresh.

I loved these! I’m trying to go sugar free (using honey and maple syrup instead) so I used only honey for this recipe but now I’m gonna try honey and maple syrup because with just honey they fell apart 🙁 I used raisins and chopped walnuts and chopped dark chocolate instead of seeds too. Everyone loved them – great recipe!
I tried these today and I loved it. I admit I went by memory when I realized after I made the recipe I added 2 cups of oats and 1.5 cups of cereal. But I used pine nuts, flax seeds and chia seeds. I will make this again.
The first time I made these, my daughter and grandson loved them. They told me – do not try another recipe. I have been making them ever since and it has become a family favorite.
These granola bars are seriously the best! I made them for my husband and now most of his co-workers are bringing them to work for a snack now. They are too delicious! Never going to be buying granola bars from the store again.
These are so good and easy to make. I used puffed quinoa as my rice cereal and they turn out great.
I’ve watched these being made several times and finally made them. They are outstanding! My grandson helped make them and keeps asking for them on repeat. They will be something I keep in the fridge at all times now.
Amazing! Love love these bars! I used chia seeds for the mixins, and it’s such a simple add in with some added crunch!
Oh good idea! Thanks so much!
Everyone in our house adores these! Thank you so much, Christine! 🙂
