Creamy Homemade Tzatziki Sauce

This creamy tzatziki style sauce is cool, fresh, and full of flavor. Made with thick Greek yogurt, crisp cucumber, garlic, and dill, it’s a simple no cook sauce that adds brightness to chicken, roasted vegetables, flatbread, or anything that needs a little extra something.

Ingredients

  • 1 large cucumber (seeds scooped out and grated)
  • cups whole milk Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons fresh dill finely chopped. Or 1 tsp dried
  • 1 clove garlic grated
  • 2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar or red wine vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon salt plus more to taste

Instructions

  • Slice the cucumber in half lengthwise and scoop out the watery, seedy center with a spoon
  • Grate the cucumber and squeeze out as much liquid as possible with a cheesecloth or thin kitchen towel
  • Add the drained cucumber to a medium bowl
  • Stir in the Greek yogurt until combined
  • Drizzle in the olive oil
  • Add the chopped dill and grated garlic
  • Stir in the apple cider vinegar and lemon juice
  • Season with salt and mix well
  • Taste and adjust seasoning as needed
  • Refrigerate for 15 to 30 minutes if time allows to let the flavors come together
